The second day, we were with some Italian students from Catania High School. The school front door looked like an abandoned apartment, but it was surprisingly nice and wide after stepping in. After a short ceremony, we were paired with Italian students. Luckily I got two girls to be my guides. The italian students love to get together speaking Italian, at first I felt a bit awkward because I did not know what to talk to them, but later on I got used to the rhythm. They took us to the piazza and church. I tried to figure out the history background behind, but they could not tell, either. The only thing I knew was that the piazza was the symbol of the city, and the figure in the church was there to protect the city. On every Feb. 15th, there would be a huge ceremony starting from the church and walking across the city. Then we went to the fish market where was really similar to Chinese market, therefore I was not surprised by the crazy fishermen, but they did scare a lot of my other friends. They tried to attract me to their items, and they stared at me and called me “bella”. After that, we walk to the central park and have the best granite in Catania. The italian students paid for our treats which I did not expect at all. We were free after the city tour, and we were wandering around the city and have a high tea in the afternoon.
